Chevrolet Impala X (2014–2020)

How to remove the front bumper

 

-open the hood.

-under the hood, take out ten pistons and remove the plastic trim.

-under the trim, unscrew the eight screws that secure the upper part of the front bumper.

-above the headlights, at the joints of the bumper and fenders, unscrew two screws (you will need a socket with an extension).

-from the bottom, unscrew the twelve screws and take out the four pistons (twisted and inserted from the bottom up), which secure the lower part to the body and fender liners.

-turn the wheels to the side.

-in the wheel arches, unscrew four screws on each side that secure the fender liners (front part).

-move the fender liners to the side and unscrew one screw on each side (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the corners to the wings.

-release the latches in the wings (pull the corners toward you).

-with an assistant, pull the bumper forward (make sure not to break the wires).

-disconnect the connectors from the electrical equipment.

How to remove the rear bumper

 

-open the trunk lid.

-from the bottom we take out four pistons (inserted from bottom to top), which secure the lower part of the rear bumper.

-in the wheel arches, unscrew four screws on each side that secure the fender liners (rear part).

-move the fender liners to the side and unscrew one screw on each side (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the corners to the wings.

-release the latches in the wings (pull the corners toward you).

-release the latches under the rear lights.

-with an assistant, remove the bumper backwards (make sure not to break the wires).

-disconnect the parking sensor connectors.
