How to Remove Front Bumper

  1. Open the hood

  2. Remove hood release lever (pull the latch on the lever and remove upwards)

  3. Unscrew five screws (inserted top to bottom) and remove plastic cover (held by clips)

  4. Under the cover, unscrew three screws (inserted top to bottom) securing the upper part of front bumper

  5. From underside, unscrew seven screws securing the lower part (outer screws if removing bumper with underbody protection, inner screws if without protection)

  6. Turn wheels outward

  7. In wheel arches, unscrew four screws per side securing fender liners (front part, may have two additional push pins)

  8. Move fender liners aside and unscrew one screw per side (inserted bottom to top) securing corners to fenders

  9. Release clips in fenders (pull corners outward). Can also unscrew two nuts per side (marked with blue arrows) and remove with mounting elements

  10. With assistant, pull bumper forward (watch for wires and hoses)

  11. Disconnect electrical connectors

  12. Disconnect washer fluid hoses for camera (if equipped)

How to Remove Rear Bumper

  1. Open trunk lid

  2. Remove plastic trim near taillights (pry and pull outward)

  3. Under trim, unscrew four screws and remove taillights (held by clips)

  4. Under taillights, unscrew one screw per side (inserted top to bottom)

  5. At fender junction, remove two long plastic retainers (pry and pull upward) securing upper part of rear bumper to fenders

  6. Unscrew four (or eight, depending on body type, inserted bottom to top) screws securing lower part

  7. In wheel arches, unscrew four screws per side securing fender liners and sides

  8. Unscrew one screw per side (inserted bottom to top) securing corners to fenders

  9. Release clips in fenders (pull corners outward)

  10. Release clips under taillights

  11. Release clips in trunk opening

  12. With assistant, carefully pull bumper rearward (watch wires)

  13. Disconnect parking sensor connectors (main connector located in trunk)

The A6 C8 received the signature Singleframe grille, narrow LED headlights (optional matrix LED) and a sleek profile with pronounced shoulder line. Overall style became more aggressive while maintaining elegance.
