Renault Clio Mk4 X98 Model Overview

Renault Clio IV (fourth generation) is one of the most popular models from the French automaker, produced from 2012 to 2019. This hatchback retained the brand's recognizable design while incorporating modern technology, improved safety, and more fuel-efficient engines. Let’s take a closer look.

Production Years and Markets

The fourth-generation Clio debuted in the fall of 2012, with serial production beginning in 2013. In Europe, the model was sold until 2019, when it was replaced by the fifth generation (Clio V). However, in some countries, such as Russia, production of the Mk4 continued until 2022 under the name Renault Clio Symbol (a sedan based on the hatchback).

Body Types

The main version of the Clio IV was a 5-door hatchback, but other variants were offered in select regions:

  • 3-door hatchback (until 2016, primarily for the European market).
  • 4-door sedan (Renault Clio Symbol, produced in Turkey, Russia, and other countries).
  • Sports version Renault Clio RS (from 2013 to 2018).

Design and Interior

The exterior of the Clio IV became more aggressive compared to the previous generation. The car featured:

  • Narrow headlights with LED daytime running lights (optional).
  • Sculpted body lines for a dynamic look.
  • Rear door handles integrated into the door (on the 5-door version).

The interior was designed in a modern style with high-quality materials. Depending on the trim, the following features were available:

  • 7-inch touchscreen multimedia system (Media Nav).
  • Leather upholstery for seats and steering wheel.
  • Keyless entry system (no physical key required).
