How to remove front and rear bumper BMW X5 E53

BMW X5 I (E53) (1999-2006)

Front bumper

-throughout the length of the lower part of the bumper, Unscrew the screws.

-unscrew the wheel left or right depending on which side will Unscrew first

-in the wheel arch, unscrew the bolts that secure the fender liner to the bumper.

-under the hood, the edges of the radiator unscrew one screw on each side.

-(after 2003) we take out the grille fog lights (mounted on the latches) and under them Unscrew one bolt on each side.

-(up to 2003) under the fog lights take out the plugs and Unscrew one bolt on each side.

-in the opening of the lower grille, unscrew the four screws (spun up).

-remove the cap mounting of the tow hook and Unscrew one bolt on each side.

-edge bumper-exempt latches and pulls it in front of (to do it better with a helper).

-remove the connectors from the fog lights.

-if you have headlight washers, disconnected the hose (if the tank is liquid, it will flow through the hose removed, you need to prepare a blank).

-if you have sensors, remove the common connector.

-the bumper is cleared.

Rear bumper

-wheel arches Unscrew one bolt on each side that attach the inner fender  (so as not to remove the wheels, you can use the ratchet with the head) and pull the wing flaps at the edge of the bumper.

-remove lining exhaust pipes (hold on clips) .

-under the covers, unscrew one bolt on each side ( spun up).

-click the latches of the bottom of the bumper (if any).

-pulls the bumper itself  (not to scratch the paint on the wings is better to do it together).

-if there are parking sensors, we snap out the connector.

-the bumper is cleared.
