How to remove front and rear bumper BMW X5 G05

BMW X5 IV (G05) (2018+)

Depending on the year of manufacture, the attachment points may differ slightly.

Front bumper

-open the hood.

-release from the latches and remove the radiator grill (you need to start from the top).

-from the bottom side, unscrew ten screws (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the lower part of the bumper.

-wheel the wheels to the side.

-take out the rivets in the wheel arches and release the fender liners from the bumper (they hold onto the latches, pull towards ourselves, starting from the bottom).

-the lining, unscrew the screws that secure the wheel arch liners (front part).

-we move the wheel arch liners to the side and unscrew two screws on each side (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the corners of the bumper to the fenders.

-release the clips in the wings (pull the corners of the bumper down and towards ourselves).

-unscrew the two screws under the hood (spun from top to bottom) that secure the top of the bumper.

-release the latches behind the radiator grill (blue arrows).

-with an assistant, gently pull the bumper forward (look behind the wires and hoses).

-we disconnect the connectors of the electrical equipment.

- (if any) disconnect the headlight washer hoses (liquid may leak).

Rear bumper

-open the trunk lid.

-remove the lining near the taillights.

-under the pads, unscrew one screw on each side.

-take out the light reflectors from the bumper (they are held on the latches, you need to pry them from the side of the trunk opening).

-unscrew one screw on each side under the reflectors.

-from the bottom side, unscrew the screws (twisted from bottom to top) that secure the bottom of the bumper.

-unscrew the exhaust pipe liner screws (if any).

-in the wheel arches, take out the caps and release the fender liners from the bumper (they are held on the latches, pull towards ourselves).

-under the pads, unscrew two screws on each side that secure the sides of the bumper.

-release the latches in the wings (pull the corners of the bumper towards you).

-release the latches under the rear lights.

-release the latches in the trunk opening (you need to press the latches).

-with an assistant, we pull the bumper back (look behind the wires).

-disconnect the connectors of the electrical equipment (if any).
