How to remove the front and rear bumper Acura ILX

Despite the external differences in the bumper in the Acura ILX DE3, DE2, DE1, they are mounted almost the same.

Front bumper

-open the hood.

-under the hood take out eight caps (caps of different sizes) and remove the trim over the grille.

-under the trim we take out the caps (two or three, depending on the year of manufacture) that secure the grille.

-take out the caps and Unscrew the screws (twisted and inserted from the bottom up) that secure the lower part of the bumper.

-turn the wheels to the side.

-wheel arches take out two pistons on each side that secure the fender liner.

-for the fender liner, Unscrew one screw on each side (spun up) that secure the corners of the bumper to the wings.

-we release the latches in the wings and under the headlights (pull the corners of the bumper towards you).

-with an assistant, pull the bumper forward (look for the wires).

-disconnect electrical connectors.

Rear bumper

-open the trunk lid.

-in the opening of the trunk take out two plugs.

-under the plugs, Unscrew the two screws.

-take out the five caps (inserted from the bottom up) that secure the bottom of the bumper.

-in the wheel wells, Unscrew the screws that secure the fender liner and bumper corners to the wings.

-we release the latches in the wings and under the rear lights (pull the corners of the bumper towards you).

-with an assistant, pull the bumper back (look for the wires).

-disconnect electrical connectors (if any).
