How to Remove the Front Bumper

How to Remove the Rear Bumper

Instructions for the Hatchback Body:

  1. Open the trunk lid.

  2. Open the covers in the side trim of the trunk.

  3. Under the covers, unscrew one plastic nut on each side, release from the fender retainers, and remove the rear lights.

  4. At the bottom, unscrew two screws (fastened from bottom to top).

  5. In the wheel arches, unscrew three screws on each side that secure the wheel arch liners.

  6. Move the wheel arch liners aside and unscrew one screw on each side (fastened from top to bottom) that secure the corners to the brackets in the fenders.

  7. Unscrew the screws and remove the license plate.

  8. Under the license plate, unscrew two screws.

  9. Release the clips in the fenders by pulling sharply toward yourself.

  10. Release the clips under the rear lights by lifting the retainers with a flathead screwdriver and pulling out the clips.

  11. Release the clips in the trunk opening.

  12. With an assistant, remove the bumper backward, paying attention to the wires.

  13. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

  14. The bumper is removed; installation is done in reverse order.

Instructions for the Station Wagon Body:

  1. Open the trunk.

  12. (Requires two people) Carefully remove the bumper backward, making sure to disconnect the electrical connectors.
