How to remove front and rear bumper Mercury Cougar (1999-2002)

Front bumper

-open the hood.

-under the hood, remove the trim over the radiator grill.

-under the trim, Unscrew the nuts and remove the radiator grill.

-under the radiator grill, take out four pistons.

-Unscrew seven screws from the bottom.

-wheel the wheels to the side.

-in the wheel arches, Unscrew the screws that secure the wheel arch liners (front part).

-behind the wheel arch liners, Unscrew two nuts on each side that secure the corners of the bumper to the fenders.

-with an assistant, we pull the bumper forward (we look behind the wires).

-release the connectors of the electrical equipment (if any).

Rear bumper

-open the trunk lid.

-behind the side luggage compartment trims, Unscrew the nuts and remove the taillights.

-take out the seven caps in the trunk opening and under the taillights.

-from the side of the bottom, take out three pistons.

-in the wheel arches, Unscrew the screws (take out the caps) that secure the wheel arch liners (rear part).

-behind the wheel arch liners, Unscrew two nuts on each side that secure the corners of the bumper to the fenders.

-with an assistant, we pull the bumper back (look behind the wires).

-we disconnect the connectors of the electrical equipment.
